Managers Update

– SNB has a grant program WVST can access to pay for coaches to go to the swim camps
– If only one or two swimmers are eligible to go to camp then arrangements can be made with Marta (FAST swim coach) to be the coach on deck.
– Joanne expressed concern with meetings taking place during swim times. Makes it difficult to ensure enough coaches on deck.
– Decided the Executive meetings would be just for the Executive and would have separate Team meetings the coaches and parents can attend. The first one will take Place on Sunday October 30 @ 12:00

Presidents Update
---Logo is done, banners are up, equipment is bought, website updated, marketing plan unsuccessful. WVST bought advertisement cards to pass out to schools to promote WVST. However, schools put a new policy in place and sports teams are no longer allowed to do this form of advertising. Peter was able to put up poster and put cards in envelope under poster.

--- Update from SNB Presidents meeting which took place October 15, 206
There was a lot of conflict between presidents at the meeting. The north is expressing concern they do not have a voice and feel shut out. The swim clubs were also upset the Technical committee removed the 50 free swim from the 2nd Premier meet. The technical committee is following direction from Swim Canada. Swim Canada would like all provinces to focus on all around conditioning of each swimmer.

--Edmundston --- There is a possibility of having a meet for the 2017/2018 swim year. Peter had talked to, Stephan Wyatt, President of the Edmundston Swim Club and he is in agreement with this idea. Edmundston had 8 lane pool and all the officials but very little spectator area. WVST has a lot of spectator area. Peter feels once they see our pool they would be willing to have WVST host but they provide most of the officials. We would split profits with them. How to split will be determined.

– 8& under meet tabled until Team meeting on October 30, 2016

Pro Kids-- Joanne explained Pro Kids has helped WVST a lot in the past. They are requesting WVST either donate a spot or offer a spot at a reduce fees rate.

Joanne explained if we donate a spot it would cost WVST
– 8 & under $34.00
– 9/10 $74.00
– 11/15 &114.00

Joannes recommendation is we donate a spot to the 8& under group because it cost the swim club less and if they like the sport we have them for many years
Pro kids will help a family with a sport program up to $500.00 after that it is parents responsibility.
Joanne motioned to support Pro Kids with the donation of 8& under spot. Peter seconded. Motion carried.

Talked briefly about LSD rule. Peter is concerned they will up the pool fees next year. Joanne stated because of Privacy rules she is not allowed to release names of swimmers or addresses.
